Welcome to the SBML web site!
This web site serves the members of the Snedecor Baseball Mail League which has been in continuous existence since 1978. Including its prototype predecessor (the face-to-face Snedecor Baseball League), this form of "fantasy" baseball has been played continuously since 1976. We may be the oldest continuously-operating "fantasy" baseball league in existence.
There are two things that separate us from most fantasy-type baseball league. First, we have regularly scheduled head-to-head games using boxscores only from one days-worth of statistics rather than compiling a weeks-worth of statistics for a single result. Second, because of that we have never integrated pitching into the league. We only use hitters. This has worked out quite well. This site is occasionally under construction. The vast majority of this work is done during the off-season, but sometimes bug fixes and maintenence are done during the season.
This site has been designed to be compatible with modern browsers and is compatible with those that fully comply with HTML 4 and CSS 2 or higher standards. This means the site may not render properly in IE 6 or earlier. If you are using IE 6, get a better browser!
